Honestly, he wouldn't turn down that conversation, either. He had been considering on finding a way to remake that particular weapon, as a sort of backup if it were necessary. No one would expect a hat with blades in it, after all, that much he had learned time and time again.
Certainly he would keep talking if given reason to, there's no reason to hide things from him, as far as he can determine.

Luckily his response is a small laugh. "That would indeed be him, I suppose you have met him, then." Under what context, he's not too sure, but he's assuming well enough?
