He was a lot like that. Never talked to him, but it was clear he did everything and anything for his kids. Even when he was arrested I could hear him telling them to take care.
There is an orphanage in Bavan actually that I know of. Maybe if you particularly desire to go look after kids once in a while, you could go help out there. I know some monsters work there. Yuurika for example, she's very kind. Not the same but an option.
