I've been careful to go over monster's weaknesses, and safeguarding my own even before this event. If I'm not, then I deserve to die.

That's a little harsh. Even very smart people make mistakes and slip up sometimes and that hardly makes them deserving of death.

How have you been safeguarding your own weaknesses?

That is true, but I judge myself harsher than I do others. I must if I'm to protect myself and my clients.

- Light weight armour- leather and flax- under my clothes.
- Oils to make sure I don't burn.
- Therapy.

Protects my mind. My form comes with a lot of interesting quirks, and though normally they wouldn't be a problem, they are ones that can be taken advantage of during combat. Talking to someone is as much of a precaution as procuring a weapon.

Meticulousness, for most part. Not quite at the point of OCD, I can say confidently, but it's fairly bad. I usually fair calmly in situations, but if the details of my work or things are out of place, I get very frustrated. Makes it easy to clean the house, but I dislike being irritated every time I go out to Bavan and see a bottle on the floor.

[Hell, when L hears talk of arachnes and their particular tendencies, he's actually pretty surprised he didn't end up as one himself. They seem to describe him to a T. Then again, he realizes that a person's nature isn't always indicative of the monster they'll become, which stings, because he was so partial to that theory when he arrived.]

I understand what that's like and do not consider it a negative quality. Perhaps it will help you survive the encounter you're about to endure.

[L's right, it isn't always indicative, but still L probably doesn't match since he lacks the maternal instincts most arachne have.]

Like I said, it has proved useful in the past, and I hope it will continue to, but I hope for it not be be a manipulated quality in the future.

In what ways are you afraid it could be manipulated? Someone coming at you in a way that forces you to focus on organization rather than the matter at hand?

Being concerned with order and the way things are done down to precision... If given the chance for study, my habits makes me predictable. It's not ideal.

Being predictable would certainly be unhelpful in trying to evade an attack, but that's not the case here. You're armed to the teeth, and if you're an arachne, with teeth at that.

Do you know what kinds of monsters your venom works or doesn't work on?

That is true. I still should have my guard up regardless.

I have yet to test venom on a monster. I don't make it a habit to bite people.

You wouldn't need to make it a habit, but just knowing would be prudent, wouldn't it? After all, you're in a situation now where you've gone to great lengths to have every possible weapon you can use at your disposal.

It would be. It is... difficult asking for volunteers however. Unless I go under the assumption all spider venom is the same and go collect data from other arachne.

I'd definitely collect data from other arachne. If they'd be willing it would be very valuable information to have. You could make a project of it, and I don't doubt that many would be amenable to participating.

Who is your master? Are you referring to the child in your care?

At home, we protect our dimension from an invading force, and all dimensions between us and them. As my master wishes, we are to stop the conflict in ever dimension. That is our cause.
