I'm honoured you feel that way. I will do my best here. [It makes sense. Tsukikage himself is like that when it comes to his own home. Even though the others did offer to help him, back when he just got the house, he uplifted every square inch of the house so he could add his own web security system. Even the stone. All by himself. There's always been a great importance people have placed on privacy and security.

Tsukikage walks through the apartment, noting windows and doors. He's already pretty familiar with the windows in the bedroom, so he doesn't go in there, but everything gets noted down and memorised. Some of the locks are Grade 2 rather than Grade 1, so he could help with that, even with current technology. The hinges on all doors could do some work too.]

The fae are not adverse to silver, are they? A lock may be expensive but plating may help with keeping most off.

[Light's apartment is nice and organized, though it's also rather obviously lived in. Books sit on tables, a laptop and papers spread out across the desk, and bandages line the trash can in the living room. It consists of a living area with a small studying section set off from the side, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a single bedroom, though the rooms are all generous in size. Most rooms have two windows, though those in the kitchen are small. The bathroom itself only has one sliver of glass above the sink.]

No, we don't have weaknesses like most monsters, only our inability to lie. Money isn't a problem, either. I've saved a lot up.

[Tsukikage looks outside most of the windows and checks to see where the fire escape is. He'll have to rig that as well. Maybe put in a trap if Light is alright with it, seeing as a fairy probably wouldn't use the stairs if he could fly or teleport.]

That's very convenient then. We can work with that keeping monsters out. Having different metals available will help with a lot of monsters that will give you problems. [He looks at the front door and pauses.] A door jammer would probably be a good investment too. If we can't find one here, I could probably make one. I have a good amount of steel lying around. Would do us good reinforcing the frames as well. [Tsukikage doesn't have to pay for rent or utilities, thanks to building his own home and having Mana's magic help out. Whatever money he doesn't keep aside for food and other expenses usually goes to his forge in the spider pit.]

I'm good at engineering and woods, but I haven't worked with steels.

[Light is actually capable of laying traps, but he hadn't thought he would need it on this scale. It wasn't like he had ridiculous amounts of security at home. Still, while he can point out a few security flaws of his own, Tsukikage is an expert in this field, and he hardly complained about deferring to experts; Light hardly planned to be his own doctor, lawyer, and other areas that require expertise.]

I do worry about magic, too. I haven't found anything, but have you heard of magic blocking devices during your time here?

Ah. Engineering was never something I excelled at. [Hikage was a natural, but never him.] I have a forge in my house for metalwork. It won't be difficult making something like that. Maybe I should make one, actually. It would give you a bit of an advantage. It would be above whatever is available in this world. [1950s security wasn't great, in all honesty. Tsukikage was far in the future from this. He couldn't rig up an electronic security systems, but he could mix metals and reinforce far better than what they could get here.]

Magic... yes, that is tricky. And Light Magic is hard to come by. Honestly, no I haven't. Usually I would ask Mana for such things, or at least some free advice. There must be some way to do it though. What kind of magic are you worried about in particular? Elementals? Shadow? [He considers asking about teleportation but figures it's not necessary to make Light paranoid about something people can't even get.]

[The lack of advancement in security manners is one thing that has been plaguing Light. He wanted a security system, he wanted reinforced doors and windows. He'd always been paranoid, but it was reaching new heights.]

As for the magic, teleportation is the largest worry. A faerie would need to make a ring inside first, but a demon can teleport. Beyond that, shades can move through walls.

If you insist. I do not require a charge for friends, especially with affairs I can help with such as this. [But he's not going to deny payment. He's the one that brings in the money for the household after all.]

I can handle shades. I'll need to do a couple of experiments with my roommate, but I should be able to block them off. For demons... well... I 'acquired' a pistol and some bullets blessed with holy magic in Vandare. I know they work. [Thanks Mello.] I'm not sure what else I can do, but I'll look into it.

[Light notices the distinction, but he doesn't mind. His offer to pay Tsukikage had been sincere rather than merely polite. So, he nods. They'd talk money later. The promise had been made and accepted.]

That would be immensely helpful. As for the weapon, is it something you can duplicate? If there's only one and it's in your possession, it wouldn't be able to help me in an emergency situation.

It's not, but I have more than one gun. Back when Vandare wasn't divided but still hostile, I tended to do a lot of vigilante work. I confiscated a large number of weapons from civilians. I can give you one of those guns and some of my holy bullets.

[He does consider giving Light all of it, but then remembers that sort of generosity tends to be unwise, even if he does trust the man. Tsukikage dislikes guns himself, but even if he doesn't use it, he wants to keep one at hand.]>/small>

[He smiles back at Light and bows his head.] If you can think of any more suggestions or ideas to add on top of that, please do not hesitate to ask. I'm sure I can implement it somehow or another.

No, all of your suggestions sound logical. Ah, I suppose we can reinforce the windows with decorative bars. I'll speak with the building manager, but the new additions would only make it possible to charge more when the next tenant moves in. That, in addition to your ideas, should probably go a long way in making me feel safer.

[Though, it would be hard to feel completely safe in a world where magic was real. Or, at least science so advanced that it still seemed like magic.]

Mmm... [He's also considering putting in traps for the fire escape, but that may endanger tenants in the event of an actual fire. He'll have to think of a way around that before bringing it up with Light.]
