Date: 2019-11-05 06:29 am (UTC)"Yes, it doesn't. I'm glad you think the same way." He's glad that he's got a chance, if nothing else, even though he's not sure if he should risk jumping into another relationship again. "I've been mistaken for thirty before, but I suppose it's because of my mask. Hides anything important."

Date: 2019-11-05 07:47 am (UTC)A smile tugs at the corners of his mouth before he's waving all of it off with a light laugh, of course he would. "That seems more like a problem for them than for you, but I could always be biased." He's absolutely biased, he knows full well that physical appearances and the like are the last thing on his list. It's nice, certainly, but a personality always mattered more at the end of it.
"As I said, I have no problem with being slow if you're more comfortable with that. I can have restraint when I need to."

Date: 2019-11-07 02:20 am (UTC)"It's useful for me, if anything. I do like my disguises and masks. Lets me do things undisturbed... My attire right now is sort of my daily uniform in a way." Appearances certainly was important for work, which is why Tsukikage always kept careful regard of them. But indeed the heart was the most important.
"Just don't be too cruel to my heart if you find someone more up to your speed, neh?" Tsukikage teases as he holds up his tea cup to 'cheers' good-naturedly with Speedwagon.

Date: 2019-11-07 04:55 am (UTC)"... Fair enough, honestly, I hadn't thought much on it. But there is a vast difference between keeping up appearances for a store front or what-not versus being a thug." No one really cared what you looked like as one, it was all about attitude and personality than anything else.
Maybe that's why he doesn't put much stock into appearances. Huh.
Though he does get him to sputter a bit and look down at his cup for a moment before slowly raising his own with a brief bit of a laugh. This is honestly ridiculous. "Does that mean this is somewhat official, then?" He sounds ridiculous.

Date: 2019-11-08 06:47 am (UTC)The younger man blinks and blushes but he does shrug nonchalantly. His tea cup tinks against Speedwagon's cup as Tsukikage briefly brings them together.
"Well, we can start officially dating, if you're so interested. Being official like a couple... we'll see." Not so fast, remember Speedy?

Date: 2019-11-08 06:56 am (UTC)It'll come back to bite him later.
One day he'll learn how to slow and calm down, but today is not that day. Particularly seeing as he can't hide that smile of his own, he'll figure it out in due time. It just takes some time to learn where and where not to push things along just a little. Give and take is something he's still learning. "Ah, yes, that whole going slow thing. I do suppose I should figure that out." He sounds far too amused by all of it, but that's normal at this point. "I would say I am interested in such a thing, since there is certainly no time like the present."
Because who knows just how much time there really is, it could be years or it could be hours. This place has already confused him significantly.

Date: 2019-11-08 07:22 am (UTC)But Tsukikage's much of the same. While he tries to be honest, a ninja had their secrets. They had to keep grace and composition so they can help their allies at any given time. Even outside of work in this social situation he recognises his role. So his repeating mantra of regret is hidden behind a similarly amused chuckle.
"Then I guess we are dating now. I look forward to getting to know you better, Mr. Speedwagon." God, he's now going to be dating a guy he just met. So scandalous... not the most scandalous thing he's done but still.

Date: 2019-11-08 07:31 am (UTC)A lot of regret that perhaps one day the both of them can try and let go of, but that's somewhere far further down the line than it currently is.
Mr. Speedwagon. There's something hilarious about hearing that and he's just waving a hand with a small smile of his own. "There's no need to be so formal about it, simply Speedwagon works, or Robert. Either one." Hell, even his closest friend rarely calls him by his actual first name. No one ever really did when it's something as common as Robert, after all.
"And I can say much the same, admittedly you... intrigue me quite a good bit, in more ways than one." As a person in general, as someone that has been here so long, and in other ways that are perhaps better kept unsaid and hidden for the time being. But a man's mind can certainly wander when not in public, of course.

Date: 2019-11-12 03:40 am (UTC)"Really now?" Tsukikage asks. "I suppose I have some interesting things about me, being a ninja and a blood magician, but I have a few less surprises in me than I'll admit." That's a blatant lie, Tsukikage. Even if he does think it's true and he's rather bashful about it at the moment.

Date: 2019-11-12 03:45 am (UTC)"I'm sure there's more than you realize, it is simple for one to put themselves and their skills, abilities, and personality down than it is to see their strengths." He's not wrong, oddly enough, even if he does the same thing to himself near constantly. Everyone else is more interesting than him, after all. "I'm certain there's far more beneath the surface than what you are giving me, Tsukikage."
no subject
Date: 2019-11-12 06:53 am (UTC)Anyway...
"I suppose so. I am a ninja and that's already interesting to most people," Tsukikage chuckles. "I'd love to give you more but... well... I don't even know where to start? What would you like to know?"
Conversations were hard. Tsukikage hopes that Chikage would be here soon. At least talking about Chikage made things feel less awkward to him...

Date: 2019-11-13 05:29 am (UTC)There's a lot, that much he's certain of.
"Perhaps about your home, first? The... one before here, that is. Admittedly, I know little about Japan itself and the more I hear about it, the more curious I become." If they ever manage to find a way out, he's adding it to the list of places to visit, after all.

Date: 2019-11-19 07:32 am (UTC)"Of course. It seems like so long ago since I've seen home. Before I was taken to Ryslig, I was already away for... work." That's a nice way of saying you were fighting an interdimensional war, Tsukikage.
"Is your world acquainted with Duel Monsters? Because if it's not, it'll be very different to my own home. Every Japan without it has never heard of Maiami City, which is a large city off the coast. It's the closest city to my village, you see. Which is very much the opposite of a city..."

Date: 2019-11-23 01:39 am (UTC)"Duel... Monsters? I cannot say that I have ever heard of such a thing." He's literally from the Victorian era, Tsukikage, was Duel Monsters even a thing back then in your world? Who knows, honestly.
But he's listening intently and taking down every little bit of this that he can, because of course he does, he's absolutely an informational sponge. Always has been and always will be, whether he wants to or not. "Maiami City and on the coast..." Hm, interesting. "And your village?"

Date: 2019-11-25 02:06 am (UTC)Tsukikage gives a long sigh. He lets the cup down from where he was resting it in his hands and he gives a very, very long sigh.
"When you die in Ryslig, you do not necessarily stay dead, but when you die around three times or so you start losing memories. A lot of memories of my childhood and my village have been taken from me but I remember some aspects of it," Tsukikage admits honestly. "It's a small, traditional place. Wooden buildings, paper sliding doors, and beautiful gardens. There were wide open fields, cliffs and forests surrounding it, keeping it safe from strangers and providing ninjas ideal training grounds for our craft. It really was small and peaceful. We were entirely self-sufficient."
