[With that, Tsukikage closes his laptop and crawls out of the pit. Since the fog has long passed, he's back to his five foot spider form, and navigating through the house is relatively easy. The man knocks on the door to Ron's room and makes sure his voice is calm.]

It's me. May I come in? We need to talk, Ron.

O-okay.

[ Ron is crying. He's feeling stupid and horrible, and like he's done something really bad even though he meant so well and just wanted to be together with Tsukikage forever.

He wipes his tears when Tsukikage comes in, trying to stop crying. ]

[Tsukikage's eyes soften upon seeing the boy and he walks up to him. His movements are fluid and graceful, smooth, without a trace of anger. He crawls onto the bed and folds his legs, sitting next to the boy.]

Are you alright? Why are you crying?

[ He pulls his legs up to his chest, even though it's an awkward movement since he tried to do it the same way he did when he had human legs. Ron bites his lip and looks up at Tsukikage with big glossy eyes. ]

I th-thinked I made you angry. I d-did bad.

You 'thought' you made me angry? [Tsukikage tilts his head curiously before he moves over closer, putting his arm around Ron.]

I'm not angry. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm just... I'm confused, honestly. How come you put that post on the network? Why are you trying to find me a partner?

[ He nods. There had been so many varied reactions to his post that he hadn't known what to think, but he'd gotten worried. ]

You, you said if you g-get married you'll n-never leave. If you l-leave I'll be al-alone again.

[When... when the hell did he say that? Tsukikage tries to rack his brains, but for the life of him, he can't figure out when he said that to Ron. He knows he must have said it, otherwise Ron wouldn't have clung on to his words so desperately, but try as he might, the ninja's memory for once fails him.

But he can sort of logic it out.]

... Oh. I meant to say was that if I got married, I wouldn't leave you behind. This was a mistake on my part. I was trying to express that no person in Ryslig will get between us. I don't want to leave.

But you know how people disappear? Like Frodo?

[ He still thinks it means the same thing as getting married meaning that he won't disappear from Ryslig, which is what he wants. ]

Uncle Frodo goned because he didn't get married.

What I mean to say that no one will separate us, okay? No person can or will. However, people go home because the gods want them to. Marriage can't save me from the fog god if it's my time to go home, understand?

... All we can do is hope. Hope that we won't be separated. [He pauses though as he remembers all the horrible things that happened at home (a dream, a vision of what happened in their world) and he hugs Ron tighter. It's a comforting gesture, but Tsukikage isn't sure if it's more for Ron or for him.]

... At this stage though, even if Reira-dono leaves, I may stay at Ryslig. There's no place for me back where I'm from anymore.

[ Ron's short arms wrap around Tsukikage as well as they can, holding on to him. He doesn't want him to go anywhere. ]

I don't want you to leave, I don't have anywhere else. You can't leave me.

I don't want to leave you either. [He can't promise he won't leave. It's very likely he never will, but he can't promise it. He should make arrangements with his friends. He'll make a long list of people to look after Ron if he ever disappeared. He wanted to make sure Ron was loved no matter what, and make sure there was always on standby, prepared to take the task up.]

... Do you know what the name Tsukikage means Ron? [His other set of arms wrap around Ron.]

Nnn. [ He clings to Tsukikage tighter, not going to let go for quite a while. If Tsukikage wanted to go anywhere after this he would have to carry Ron with him. He doesn't want his family to leave him. ]

Moon Shadow. It means the shadow of the moon. The shadow that chases it. It is a name given to one who is hidden and always watching.

[He strokes Ron's hair gently and sighs, looking to the boy that clings so tightly to him. He's not sure if he ever was so close to someone. He can't remember the last time he felt so loved.]

When the moon can't be seen in the sky, it's still there, hidden overhead. Even if I'm not there physically, I'll always be watching you and caring for you. We're linked together as a family, and that's something that can never be taken away if we cling to it closely to our hearts.

I love you. I love you so much. Just remember that I won't really leave you. Be as sure and as steady as the moon itself on that.

[ Ron presses his face against Tsukikage, hiding how much he's crying, even though Tsukikage will sureply be able to tell regardless. He doesn't understand what all of it means, but he gets most of it. It still doesn't sound enough for him though. ]

It's n-not the same th-thing...! I can't h-hug you or cuddle if y-you're not h-here! You have to be here! I don't want you to play hide and seek and never come out. I'm not gonna play hide and seek ever again so you have to stay with me forever!

You can play hide and seek Ron. That shouldn't change. [He's so young, and despite being a killer, Ron is wonderfully innocent and naive. He'll grow. He'll learn the meaning of his words later, but for now, he's just going to hold him]

I'm here now, Ron. That's what's important, alright? We should enjoy the time we have together... and not worry about the future. Whatever will come will come. Whatever will be will be.

No I c-can't, what if I never f-find you or nii-san again? I don't wanna be all alone ag-again! [ He's joined the fog god to ensure that he'll get to be with them forever, so he's going to make sure that they don't go anywhere. ]

We won't disappear during hide and seek. I can definitely promise you that. [He doesn't want Ron to lose a game out of fear. He supposes one empty promise won't hurt, especially when it's so unlikely.]

P-pinky promise...? [ Pinky promises are practically holy to Ron, and he takes them very seriously. If someone pinky promises something to him he'll trust that promise.

He looks up at Tsukikage with tear filled eyes. ]

B-buh-but you can't e-ever go away.

Yes, I will. [If somehow he or Reira manage to disappear during hide and seek, he'll be very pissed off at the Fog God, more than usual. He goes to extend one of his hands so they can shake on that.]

[ Ron hooks his pinky around Tsukikage's and starts saying the pledge. ] Pinky promise pledge: If you're lying, I'll make you drink a thousand needles. Pinky promised.

[ Because the words are so ingrained in his mind by now, he doesn't stutter while saying it. ]

I gotta be b-big first, right?

[He's never heard of that before, but he looks at him properly and repeats the words clearly, hoping it was the right thing for him to do.] Pinky promise pledge: If you're lying, I'll make you drink a thousand needles. Pinky promised.

[ Ron seems satisfied with that, and goes back to hug him again after the promise has been made. Now he's really not allowed to break that promise. ]
