I was lucky to meet these people right away. The indifference or delight many show at their changes and killing urges is infuriating.

How does that work, is their curse intensified compared to ours? There is one Fog worshipper who has offered to meet with me, to sell me a map and show me the graveyard with the memorial of the monsters who have left. Someone named Judai. I'm interested in what they have to offer but I'm not sure if they want to help me or eat me.

I take in children if they do not have a place to go. At present, I have three under twelve in my care. I'm the only one above twenty in my household.

I pity the indifferent ones. People get desensitised by killing and changes too quickly. Acceptance lets the more vocal ones get away with their crimes.

From my understanding, it's a 'gift'. A power bestowed on the Follower depending on how loyal they are. The more extravagant the display, the more power they can inherit.

There can be no acceptance or indifference to the things we are forced to do. I have fought in war before. I'm a leader of my people, who have to speak judgment. I don't shy away from killing when it is necessary but this here is killing for the entertainment of a malicious being. This Fog God may be powerful but that doesn't mean we should submit to her whims.

So the Fog's priests have special powers. That makes sense. If you fight a war, you want your lieutenants to be strong.

These are all children who the Fog brings. I'd like to take in locals but I think they're safer off with the authorities in Bavan. I'm good friends with the orphanages around there.

They can be weakened but not consistently or reliably. If you meet with one, administer caution regardless of how friendly they are.

Please keep me informed if you make progress. I'm trying to settle in right now and learn as much as I can about this place, and relearn fighting without my powers which the Fog God stole from me. Thank you. I bought a sword recently but I will have need of more well-crafted weapons. Depending on my transformation, I might need something suited to my changed body. When you are less busy with your projects, maybe we could meet up and speak about swords.

I have never made a proper bow before- only improvised ones but I've fashioned arrows a number of times.

I would appreciate it if you could try, or help me find a bowmaker. I'll also be needing more swords in the future. Gosalyn, Obi Wan Kenobi's ward, is in need of proper weapons of her own, though she might want to try forging her sword herself under skilled guidance.

There is also a fellow cultivator from my own world, I advised him to see you for a new weapon. I believe he will also be an ally in other matters, he is very righteous.

I do not know anyone who makes bows but I certainly will make a point to learn. And I can certainly provide swords. I have a number you can view now.

I didn't know Obi-wan had a ward. I can certainly allow use of my forge if they need of it. It would be nice to meet this Gosalyn.

That is good. We do need numbers. I will be doing an active drive to try recruit members and I'll post about my latest findings. Perhaps we will learn more about the Star God if this mission is successful.

The Star God? There is another god? This is the first I hear of it. Is that what you have been working on?

Xiao Xingchen can be trusted. Like I, he has spent his life fighting to protect people from evil.

There may have been another god. I call it the Star God since I have no other name for it.

A year or so ago, the Freedom Fellowship made an expedition under Vandare. We found an old building that had been collapsed by the Fog God. In the ruins, we found a number of old books with rituals and various artefacts.

One of the things we found down there was a mural with a sort of starry being over the representations of the Day God, Night God and the Fog God, the three sisters. And yet when I came out to Bavan and Vandare, no one had ever even heard of this thing.

I've been trying to track down to see if the Fog God actually did come from this entity or served it. I didn't want to make it public in case I was just chasing an artist's interpretation, rather than something conclusive.

I'm hoping that finding out about this Star God will lead to something about the Fog God... something that will help us escape her hold on us.

All of this is new to me.

I hope you will soon have something to share. These are hopeful news. If this Star God is real and stands above the Fog God, this could change everything.

Yes, we do. Perhaps not true sisters, as borne of flesh, but the Fog referred to them as her siblings. Texts also state the same thing.

The story of their deaths are curious. The papers we found had come to the conclusion that the Day and Night gods have been killed, and likely by the Fog herself. Some old tales point to the idea that the Fog has lost her Heart, somehow. But there's still conflicting information that makes it hard to come to a conclusion.

The Day God had some influence. Actually, they may still in a minor way. The parasite clan in Kulen have a sort of ouija board that communicates with a 'friend' that. It can only answer yes or no questions though... and we could only ask it one question at the time.

I hadn't been willing to consider yet that the Fog God could be an actual god. I only thought of her as a powerful evil entity, like a demon that has been left alone to grow in power for far too long.

[ And in truth, it's still not a thing he is ready to truly think too hard about. Killing an actual god is far more daunting than seeing this simply as a particularly challenging night hunt. ]

That's what I'm banking on. The Fog can be killed. She can have her power stolen too. Elias did it and the Freedom Fellowship did it once.

I know it will take time. I have fought in wars before. It is just hard. There is so much waiting to this war. The war may not be shorter but it feels shorter when you go from skirmish to skirmish.
